Yesteryear

One of the many things I love about fashion is its constant ode to a former era. Whether it is the drop waisted dresses of the flapper generation, or a Letterman jacket from our Grease days – thread lines from yesteryears will always reunite with a fresh pop cultural reference.

Recently, I have been relishing in Sex and the City repeats and the reconnection of No Doubt. There is no doubt (pun MOST DEFINITELY intended) that Gwen Stefani owned the 90’s like nobody’s business, but we must take our white singlets off to Rita Ora for her R.I.P. vid wardrobe…I am yet to see a more sexy reflection of what I thought at the time was a trend less decade. Icy locks, lowered jeans and towers of chains look smokin hot on our newest 90’s style icon!

London, Milan, Emmy…Oh My!

After inducing myself into a fashion coma, I have reawakened to the aftermath of London and Milan Fashion Weeks and the Emmy Awards. First things first, my old stomping ground, London Fashion Week; I simply ADORED the colour ways, lines and accessories sported at Roksanda Ilincic. She does cool, calm and collected like no other. Secondly, Marni in Milano; what a fabulously relaxed ode to the twin set! The prints were to die for and the splash of grey in the heels was a splendid way to add depth to the pink hues and soften the black geometrics. Lastly, what’s not to love about Julianne Moore’s Christian Dior Couture number? Some may argue that it was not the most flattering shape for Ms Moore, but I simply disagree – I think she was a knock out! The tone, the sleeves, the fabric…what a way to introduce the wow factor AND the comfort factor to the red carpet. All she needed was some pockets!

Pink is a girl after my own heart. As if I needed another reason to love her. After seeing her rock a lattice leather dress last night I knew I had to share my take on this trend!! I love adding a girlie twist to this pop star number…I feel fit for a Pink double act.

Never Say Never

It’s time to close the book on NYFW and I couldn’t think of a better way to do that, than to introduce my fellow foxes to Derek Lam’s diffusion line, 10 Crosby. It was launched last season and can now be rocked on our Aussie shores when shopped from My Wardrobe.com. May the online shopping Gods be with you!

Now that spring is here I am bringing my new friend Karissa out to play. Her bark is worse than her bite, once you negotiate her spike heels on board walks and cobble stones, of course. Have fun playing nice with your spike-heeled gal pals…they accept bribes for good behaviour!
